Ok, so you must be asking yourself...."what the he&# is this?" You are venturing upon my newest obsession: car audio. I have always been an audiophile; music has a significant part in my life. Well, when my folks donated their 1990 Taurus Station Wagon, my first step was to upgrade the radio. Now, in 2001/2002, a new car was put into the equation and I took my love of sound to a new level!
When I purchased this 2001 Toyota Solara, once again I chose to first upgrade the stereo. However, this time, I was determined to really build myself a quality setup. After replacing the deck, factory speakers, and building a subwoofer enclosure in the trunk, I decided to take the car out to a local car audio show to see what it could do. I was instantly hooked. I realized (1) I had a pretty good setup, (2) I could build a competitive system, (3) damn this was fun! So, throughout 2001 and 2002 I attended shows in the Southeast and continued to work on the car. To this point, I am the National Record Holder for the 0-24in No-Wall category in an east coast audio league. Basically, I set the record DB level for my grouping. Not bad for a novice!
Otherwise The Yote has some minor suspension upgrades: KYB struts, TRD springs and rear sway and Enkei +5 17 inch rims.
